The Morocco mission consisted of the following activities:

A seminar held on September 18, 2013 at the Golden Tulip Farah in Casablanca that attracted more than 70 health care specialists . They provided training to the local health care providers on new medical protocols, cutting-edge technological developments, and professional insights regarding specific clinicaltopics.

First guest speaker: Pr. Haroon Choudhri (19:30 to 20:00 local time)
Affiliation:
Topic: Lateral Transpsoas Approach Tips & Tricks
The discussion was very engaging and informative and was conducted in both English and French.

Second guest speaker: Dr. Richard Anderson (20:30 to 21:00 local time)
Affiliation:
Topic: Craniosynostosis
The discussion was similarly interesting.

A clinical session during which new technologies existing in the United States and available in Morocco, such as Neuro navigation, was conducted.

Surgery sessions offered by both local and American surgeons were scheduled to take place. Two surgeries where scheduled but unfortunately, only one was performed. The second was challenging and required  a long time to be successfully completed. It consisted of operating on a spinal cord tumor at Dar Al Salem Casablanca Clinic on September 20, 2013.

A community clinic held on September 19, 2013 where ten patients living at about 100 km from Marrakech, were examined for different neurosurgical symptoms related to vaious diseases (papilloma, sellar Adenoma, craniopharyngioma, benign frontal tumor, developmental delay. Two other patients were seen for sciatic nerve pain, not necessarily in the area of expertise of the neurosurgeons.

Discussion sessions organized to establish (i) a partnership with local officials such as ministry of health and different associations for future missions, a request for proposal was sent for further discussion; (ii)

a channel of communication under the umbrella of the MAHF, American doctors and local physicians.  phone numbers and email addresses with the promise from U.S doctors to revisit Morocco, in order to perform more procedures in the near future; (iii) a plan  to

arrange for local physicians to travel to the United States for observership on an invitation extended by their American counterparts; (iv) a plan to

explore new projects related to transfer of cutting-edge technology, to this effect, American Pr., Dr.Choudhri suggested the creation of a medical education center in order to teach new surgical technics to local surgeons. This project will most likely be approved and partnered by the ministry of health of Morocco.

The Morocco mission has been a complete success and the MAHF has proudly met all the goals put forth.

In these videos, Ayoub's parents express appreciation to the American surgeons and the MAHF, while Dr. Richard Anderson briefly explains the surgical procedure he performed on Ayoub.
